There Shouldn't Be Any Homework

Do you like homework? Well, I don't. Homework is one of my least favorite things to do. Sometimes my brain doesn't work and I just forget about doing my homework. I don't like homework because it kills trees, we get enough time at school, and my mom doesn't like to help me. I think we shouldn't get homework.

Tress is one reason why I don't like homework. Our homework papers are from trees. If we keep having homework, it means that more trees will be cut down and it will be killing them. If trees are being cut down, then there might be birds that are living at the top. I think the birds will be so upset if you cut down their tree that they're living in, because you will destroy their nests that they worked so hard on. We won't have any more trees if we keep using paper for homework. Let's say that you're playing with your little cousin in your back yard, and he/she wanted to go on the swings. The problem is that you don't own a swing set, but you have this tree in your back yard that you can turn into a swing. The thing is, if we keep cutting down trees, that tree you were using as a being set will be gone, and your cousin will be upset. Where I'm heading to is if we keep cutting down trees, there will be no more trees.

We get enough time at school to do any work. So, why do we have to come home and still have work to do? If you're like me and have a busy week, and don't have time to do your homework, then you don't feel like doing it. Homework just adds time to a busy week. I don't like adding more time into my busy week to do my homework. Like every Tuesday and Thursday I have Drill Team practices from 5:30-7:00pm. Every time I come home I'm exhausted, and knowing that I have homework to do makes me more exhausted. For the rest of the weekdays, like Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I have to babysit from 3:45-6:00pm. Then I have to practice my Clarinet and Saxophone. I'm just too tired at home to do any of my homework. Sometimes I don't feel like doing my homework. This is why we don't do homework at home, because we get enough time at school.

My mom doesn't like to help me with my homework. Isn't that sad? Well, actually not for me. I love my mom even though she doesn't like to help me with my homework. Sometimes my mom has work at night. When my mom comes home from work she look really tired, so sometimes I don't even bother asking her for help. If my mom isn't working, she still has something to keep her busy, like doing the laundry, cleaning the house, washing the dishes, and she also cooks. Maybe sometimes she just doesn't feel like helping me. I don't like homework, because my mom doesn't like to help me.

I think we shouldn't get homework, because it kills trees, we get enough time at school, and my mom doesn't like to help me. I don't think you want to be killing trees for homework papers. We already get enough time at school to do work, so why do we need to do more work at home? Another reason I don't like homework is that my mom doesn't like to help me with my homework. I may get more homework in the future, but I might just forget about doing it.

5 Paragraph Essay Practice

Abigail, The Best Dolphin There Ever Was!

When I grow up I think I'd make a great dolphin. I've always enjoyed swimming with the orcas. One of my favorite things to do is splashing water with my tail. I even have some experience at chasing my predators. I can jump really high, I'm good at swimming really fast, and I can beat up a shark, therefore, I will be the best dolphin that ever was!

Jumping really high has always come naturally to me. There was that time when I jumped really high. I always feel safe. Whenever I jump, I feel like I can see the whole world. Being able to jump is the first step along the path to become a dolphin.

Swimming really fast is another thing I really enjoy. It's so exciting to swim really fast. When I swim I feel like an angel in heaven. I am to swimming really fast, what spider man is to jumping buildings. Being able to swim really fast for the rest of my life would be awesome!

Beating up a shark takes a special talent. I gained a lot of experience by  living in the ocean. I learned a lot about the shark.  For example, I can gain speed by swimming really fast and attack them. The time I spent beating up sharks is sure to give me an advantage when it comes to becoming a dolphin.

The three most important ingredients required in order to become a successful dolphin are being able to jump really highbeing able to swim really fast, and beating up sharks, and I got them all! I want to be a dolphin forever. I'm never so happy as when I'm in the midst of a whole bunch of sharks. It's like Emily said, "You would be a great dolphin." When I'm a dolphin, I'm myself, and that's why I'll be the best dolphin there ever was!

Book Review: Leaving Protection

Leaving Protection by Will Hobbs is about a boy named Robbie Daniels. Robbie loves to fish, and he's leaving Protection to earn some money by getting a job on the boat. When arriving at Craig's  harbor, Robbie saw a boat named Storm Petrel where he will be working on to earn money. Robbie got on the boat and snooped around when something caught his eyes. It was a metal copper, and it had a number 13 on it. Robbie begins to work for Tor by helping hi fish. Towards to middle of the story Tor talks to Robbie about the plaques and the Russian settlement. When it gets to the end Tor had been swept overboard. After Tor died Robbie went back to Port Protection, and met up with Tor's daughter, Grace. Robbie got his check the total of $2,256. At the end Robbie and his family took a picture with the Petrel boat.

One of the main themes in the book is to be patient. An example of how this theme is shown is when Robbie wanted to find the Number 11 plaques. There are a few steps to get there. First, you need to find your location. Then, you need to find a place where you're going to be digging. Don't try and rush things sometimes you need to be patient. I think this is one of the main themes is the book.

I would recommend this book to other 7th grade readers, because it's very interesting to read, and it teaches you about fishing. I've never fished before in y intire life, but when I read this book it taught me so many things about fishing. This book has sad, funny, and interesting parts, so I would recommend this book to other 7th grade readers.
